Employee Counselling in Vienna

Confidential external psychosocial counselling for your employees – for stress, conflict, personal burdens, change and relocation. In English and German, in Vienna and online.

Why external employee counselling makes sense

When employees come under pressure – through work stress, a conflict, a personal crisis or a move to an unfamiliar country – many hesitate to seek help inside their own organisation. The worry that something might „end up in the personnel file“ is real and understandable. A confidential, external point of contact lowers that barrier: the counselling is professionally independent, takes place outside the company, and the content of conversations is not reported back to the employer.

For you as an employer, this is more than a benefit. It is a concrete part of your duty of care – and a signal to your people that their wellbeing is taken seriously, before pressures escalate.

Not „coaching for your staff“. Rather: confidential external psychosocial counselling – for stress, conflict, personal burdens, change and relocation.

What we help with

  • Work-related stress, feeling overwhelmed, and burnout prevention (without acute clinical need)
  • Conflict, role changes, reorganisation, leadership and collaboration
  • Personal crises, relationship and family strain
  • Relocation, cultural adjustment, isolation and finding your feet in Vienna
  • Decision-making, activating resources and concrete next steps

A clear scope: psychosocial counselling and coaching – not psychotherapy, not diagnosis, not medical treatment. Where further or acute care is appropriate, we refer on transparently.

Confidentiality & professional standards

With this service, confidentiality is not a detail – it is the foundation.

  • The employer enables the counselling but has no access to identity, conversation content, notes or individual assessments.
  • The confidentiality of a registered life and social counsellor is anchored in law (§ 119 Austrian Trade Act); its legal limits – for example, to avert an immediate danger – are made transparent before counselling begins.
  • Reporting is aggregate only: hours used and remaining – no names, departments, topics, content or individual risks.
  • Behind the service stands a documented professional framework: structured initial assessment (triage, not diagnosis), a current referral network, a crisis protocol, regular supervision and GDPR-compliant, separately held data.

Which organisations it fits

Especially suited to organisations with international, highly qualified or heavily loaded workforces:

  • International organisations in Vienna
  • Life-science and pharmaceutical companies
  • Large employers with established workplace health promotion
  • International tech and professional-services companies
  • Embassies, permanent missions and diplomatic institutions
  • NGOs, research and academic organisations

Bilingual (English/German) and familiar with relocation realities – an advantage wherever internal offerings reach their limits in language, capacity or confidentiality. We do not replace existing EAP, wellbeing or occupational-health structures; we complement them.

How the counselling works

  • Access: employees book directly and confidentially – no content pre-screening by HR.
  • Format: 50 minutes, in person in Vienna or online, in English or German.
  • Models: Pilot (10 counselling hours over a few months), Core (25 hours), Partner (annual contingent / framework agreement), Executive add-on (1:1 for leaders).

Frequently asked questions about employee counselling

How is confidentiality from the employer ensured?

The employer enables and funds the counselling but receives no access to identity, conversation content or assessments. Confidentiality is anchored in law (§ 119 Austrian Trade Act). The employer receives only an aggregate account of the hours used.

Is this psychotherapy?

No. It is psychosocial counselling and coaching within the scope of life and social counselling – no diagnosis, no treatment. Where therapeutic or medical care is indicated, we refer on transparently.

What happens if someone is in an acute crisis?

Employee counselling is not emergency care. Where there are signs of immediate danger, safety takes priority: a defined crisis protocol with vetted crisis and emergency contacts applies, and only what is legally permitted and necessary to avert danger is shared.

In which languages and where does counselling take place?

English and German, in person in Vienna or online.

What models and prices are available?

Pilot (10 hours), Core (25 hours), Partner (annual contingent) and an executive add-on for leaders. Pricing depends on model and scope – we are happy to prepare an individual proposal.
